Following are Hill Country spots you can't afford to miss during the Christmas season:

Blanco - The 13th annual lighting of the Old Blanco County Courthouse. Shops and stores around the square will feature open houses. Other activities include a tour of homes. For more details call (830) 833-2201 or visit www.blancotex.com.

Bandera - The Tree Lighting and Shoppers Jubilee and the downtown holiday parade. Call (800) 364-3833 or visit www.banderatexas.com for additional information.

Boerne - Follow the Star Christmas drive-through opens Christmas Day and runs through January 1st. Be sure to catch the Weihnachts Fest Parade on Main Street and Breakfast with Santa. Call (830) 249-8000 or visit www.boerne.org for more details.

Bulverde - Santa arrives to flip the switch on downtown Bulverde Christmas lights. St. Paul's Lutheran Church sponsors the Living Christmas drive-through. A Family New Year's Eve Party is held at the Bulverde Community Center. Call (830) 438-2914 for details.

Burnet - Christmas on the Square, held the first two weekends in December, features millions of tiny, white lights and displays with live animals. Dripping Springs - Main streets will be adorned with thousands of lights. Santa will make his appearance at the Hill Country Senior Citizens Christmas Fair. Call (512) 858-4740 for details.

Fredericksburg - Lights brighten the entire community. Weihnachten, the ten-day festival, will feature a Christmas parade, a Christmas tree forest, food, craft booths and entertainment. To get additional information, call (830) 997-6523 or log on to www.fredericksburg-texas.com.

Goldthwaite - Santa's arrival, band concert on the square, the Lions Club Pancake Supper and a Cowboy Christmas Ball. Call (915) 648-3619 for details.

Johnson City - Hundreds of thousands of lights will adorn homes, businesses and the Blanco County Courthouse. Also featured are Christmas in the Country Carriage Rides, The lighted Hooves and Wheels parade and a lamplight tour of LBJ's boyhood home. For more details call (830) 868-7684.
